That old enemy….

Joe Sperling posted this devotional thought on the Assembly bulletin board this morning:

|| “Our enemy, as always, seeks to alter our perception of God. He seeks to turn Him into a Judge, with “consequences” for every wrong. Thank God he has “not rewarded us according to our iniquities”—

Psalm 103:10-14, “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. ||

We would all deserve to be swimming in a Lake of Fire right now. Praise God He is a Father who pities His children, and has removed our sins so far away that He doesn’t even remember them any more!!

Through Jesus He opened a way for us to be redeemed and forgiven for all of eternity. Thank God He remembers we are dust, and easily forget how grateful we should be to Him at all times.”

How true, that it’s the work of the Adversary to alter our perception of God and make Him seem to be a judge. Resist the wiles of that old enemy by determined faith in what is true.
