This blog is my personal perspective on the former Geftakys Assembly. I am Margaret Irons, wife of Steve Irons. We were there from the very beginning in 1970, whole-heartedly believing everything we were fed by George and Betty and imposing it on others.
Until we weren’t. We left in 1990 as our eyes began to be opened to the true destructive nature of the group. To our shock, it was dawning on us that our dearly loved church was a cult.
Leaving it was a huge painful struggle. Figuring out what happened to us and how to move on from it has been an even bigger struggle. The damages from a cultic Christian group are broad and deep. What I write here are posts from that continuing uncharted journey.
